Last Saturday I presented to a group of 10 people about the reality and urgency of climate change, and particularly about the opportunities we have personally to make a difference in resolving this most pressing of issues.
The positive message is that stopping climate change is possible and that we ourselves can do something about it.
Saturday’s talk makes for the third one I’ve given. I started by inviting a few friends into my house over a few evenings and one of those sessions stimulated Saturday’s event. I’m happy with how this is going and plan to keep it up, both inviting friends and neighbours in, and responding to any opportunity other groups might give me.
I spend 30 or 45 minutes talking about the facts and the good news about solutions, the depressing aspects I do touch on, but try to keep them to a minimum. After that we just talk about the issue and what might come next.
